Chandrapur, Feb 9: Indira Gandhi Garden School celebrated the Annual Day at Priyadarshini Indira Gandhi cultural auditorium here with great pomp and show. The two days long celebration titled- Essenes of Togetherness – encapsulated the symphonious music, melodious songs, rhythmical dance performances and mesmerising drama enactment by the students of the school.
The celebration began with the lighting of the traditional lamp at the hands of chief guest, PS Shriram, unit head of Ultratech Cement and president of programme, Rahul Puglia, and other guests. Principal Jaykumar gave a detailed report of achievements and adoption of good academic practices in the school during her introductory remarks. Chief guest PS Shriram guided the students about content they require in life, need of sound character, commitment towards goal and importance of communications skills. He also called upon the parents to provide higher education and build confidence among their wards, while being actively involved in building their career.
The dance performances of tiny-tot students from pre-primary and primary section were particularly captivating. The symphonic musical orchestra presented by the students remained the center of attraction on the first day of the celebration. Series of prizes for different achievements in sports, music, art and craft, science exhibition and academic excellence were distributed at the hands of guests during the programme.
The second day of celebration witnessed the plethora of dance performances and enactment of hilarious drama. Chief Plant Manager, ACC Cement, K Ravindranatha Reddy was chief guest on the second day of the function. Comedy drama – Akbar : Never Before, dance performance based on the work of filmstar Shahrukh Khan and horror dance were the highlight of the second day’s event. The dance performance by the std X students on a song from Pushpa movie received a resounding response from the audience.
Students from Std IX and X conducted the proceedings of the programme. Head girl Nidhi Tummalwar and Head boy Aditya Shinde proposed a vote of thanks on the first and second day respectively. Administrator Jaykumar, all the teachers and non-teaching staff of the school took hard efforts for the success of the programme.
