Navratri festival celebrated at Indira Gandhi Garden School

Chandrapur : The Navratri festival was celebrated with great pomp in the Indira Gandhi Garden School run by The Education and Cultural Society. On the occasion of the holy occasion of Navami, a grand Raas Garba event was organized for the students of the school, in which the children participated with great enthusiasm.

Initially the Principal Bawani Jayakumar lit the lamp and performed the ritual Puja of Mata Rani. Students captivated the audience by singing Durgastavan in their melodious voice. A beautiful drama depicting the victory of truth over evil was presented by the children of the pre-primary section on this occasion. Incidents of Lord Rama’s exile, Sita’s abduction, Vanar Sena travel through sea and killing of Ravana in the Ramayana were wonderfully presented in the play. The performances of little actors won the hearts of the parents and teachers. This play was the highlight of the entire program. The students of class 9th and 10th of the school presented beautiful dances on the importance of killing Mahisasur and Garba.

Later, all the students from Nursery to Class X enthusiastically played Ras Garba for hours in a specially prepared pandal. Teachers, non-teaching staff and students took hard efforts for the success of the programme. The management committee of the school and Principal Bawani Jayakumar have congratulated the teachers and students for the successful organisation of the programme.
