Chandrapur: Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with great pomp and festivity at Indira Gandhi Garden School run by The Education and Cultural Society. Dressed as Radha and Krishna, the cute little ones added a traditional touch to the entire celebrations. Kids danced to the beat of Janmashtami songs, filling the air with joy and festive spirit.
The secretary of The Education and Cultural Society, Krishnan Ayyar was chief guest of the programme. Vice principal Payal Kommuru supervised the entire programme. The celebration started with the lightening of traditional lamp and recitation of verses from Bhagwat Geeta.
Girls and boys from primary, secondary and higher secondary classes enthralled the audience with a separate classical dance performance. The kids from pri-primary section dressed in traditional Radha and Krishna attire made a ramp walk, as their parents watched with awe. The most significant event of the programme was “ Dahi Handi”, organized for young boys and girls dressed in traditional dress.
The cabinet installation of the school was held on the occasion at the hands of chief guest Krishnan Ayyar. Prizes to the winners of speech competition, Rakhi Making, fancy dress, drawing and painting competitions held in the school were distributed at the hands of guest and vice-principal. Large number of parents were present during the celebrations.
The cabinet members of the school conducted the programme in an enthralling manner. Teachers and staff members of the school worked hard for the success of the programme.
