Nagpur,Sept 7:Regional office of Maharashtra pollution control board (MPCB), Nagpur and Nagpur municipal corporation (NMC) RTO Nagpur along with different NGOs jointly celebrated International day of Clean Air for Blue Sky on Tuesday.
NMC commissioner, Radhakrishnan B and regional officer, MPCB, Nagpur, AM Kare were chief guests during the programme. Commissioner Radhakrishanan B formally inaugurated the awareness banner with the message to achieve clean air on the occasion.
Later MPCB field officer Watane and sub-regional officer AN Katole under the guidance of regional officer Kare gave a presentation on proactive initiatives taken up by MPCB for clean air during the programme.
Banners to raise public awareness at all levels—individual, community, corporate and government—that clean air is important for health, productivity, the economy and the environment were installed at various places in Nagpur city to mark the occasion.
